PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition to be applied to eyelash to form a coating film giving pretty curl to the eyelash. SOLUTION: The composition for forming a coating film on a keratinous fiber is composed of a cosmetologically allowable aqueous medium containing at least one volatile solvent and a nonvolatile fraction added to the medium. The nonvolatile fraction contains a polymer bondable to the keratinous substance, a 1st solid particle containing a 1st amorphous substance having a glass transition temperature of >=60 deg.C and exhibiting solid state at 25 deg.C and arbitrarily a 2nd solid particle containing a 2nd substance different from the 1st substance and infusible at <=40 deg.C. The 1st solid particle and optionally the 2nd solid particle are present in the composition at a volume ratio of >=50% based on the total volume of the nonvolatile component of the composition.
