摘要 PURPOSE: An ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) cell scheduler and a scheduling method thereof are provided to store a delay value for a sorting bean delayed and registered in an own time slot, and to register a connection number in a prior sorting bean appropriately for the delay value using an aging method in the next cell scheduling for corresponding connection, so as to minimize a CDV(Cell Delay Variance) of the corresponding connection. CONSTITUTION: A connection information manager(51) receives QoS(Quality of Service) grade information and a connection number for connection of an input cell from a buffer manager, to decide a bean group corresponding to the connection. A CDVT(CDV Time) limiter(52) calculates cell scheduling time corresponding to each connection, to limit delay time not to exceed the maximum limit time. A delay value storing part(53) stores delay values by connections for the position of a sorting bean delayed and registered as another connection number is already registered in the sorting bean for registering the connection number of the input cell. A time slot processor(54) receives CDVT information from the CDVT limiter(52) to calculate the position of the sorting bean for registering the connection number of the input cell, and decides a connection number of a sorting bean in a prior position as the position of the sorting bean for registering the connection number as much as a corresponding delay value with reference to the stored delay values. A connection number storing and managing part(55) stores and manages the connection number for the input cell in a sorting bean of a corresponding bean group, using the bean group information and the position information of the sorting bean. And a contention policing part(56) reports the contention of a connection number of a sorting bean to the time slot processor(54), if the connection number storing and managing part(55) registers the connection number in a specific sorting bean, to re-attempt the decision of sorting bean position.
