PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified polyalkyleneimine which has good water filtra tion properties as a polyalkyleneimine-base sludge dewatering agent, can lower the moisture content of filter cake, facilitates the reaction control in modifica tion and is good in the stability of a product without lowering cation density and a method of efficiently dewatering organic sludge by using the same. SOLUTION: The sludge dewatering agent consists of the modified polyalkyleneimine of general formula 1 and/or 2 (n is an integer of >=0 and R1 to R9 are hydrogen, 1-3C alkyl groups, hydroxyalkyl groups or benzyl groups). The method of producing the modified polyalkyleneimine comprises reacting the polyalkyleneimine or a mixture composed of the polyalkyleneimine and a polyamine with a corresponding polycation material.
