PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gamma correction device that can easily correct gamma correction data (LUT) for correcting gamma characteristics after a secular change, by setting an adjustment point from a shape of current gamma correction data so as to control the number of the adjustment points. SOLUTION: The gamma correction device references the gamma correction data (LUT) 109, generates a graph on the basis of each input value to the gamma correction data (LUT) 109 and an output value, corresponding respectively to the input value, and calculates a gradient of the graph. Then the gamma correction device discriminates whether or not a point denoting a gradient '1' is detected among the gradients of the calculated gamma correction data. When the gamma correction device discriminates that the point for denoting the gradient '1', the gamma correction device records the detected point as a gamma adjustment point 106. |
