Hospital bed, comprising mechanism for moving patient from back onto stomach and vice versa for prevention of bedsores

In a first stage the patient is positioned on his/her back on a mattress resting on a frame (2) of transversal slats (3) joined with elastic straps (4) which can be wound onto a drum (5) hidden in a housing (15) at the headboard (9). For being moved onto his/her stomach the patient is strapped to the mattress, a second frame (2) is released from a housing (15) at the foot-board (11), pulled across the patient at a suitable distance and fixed to the headboard (9). The patient is slowly rotated lengthwise using rollers (12) guided along circular grooves (13) provided at the head-board (6, 9), the foot-board (8, 11) respectively until he/she can comfortably lie on the stomach, the belts are unfastened and the now upper slatted frame (2) is wound up and stored.
