The subject matter of this invention is a phototherapeutical apparatus, which is suited for the treatment and prevention of diseases of the body, favourable for diseases of the nose, paranasal sinuses, mouth cavity, throat, oesophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, rectum, ear, trachea, urogenital tract, portio, uterus and conjuctiva.The characteristic features of the apparatus are, that is provided with an ultaviolet source (1), an optical coupling unit (3) which focuses the ultraviolet beam (2) going out from the light source, a light delivery system (4) connected to the coupling unit (3) and an ultraviolet light irradiating unit (5).The subject matter of the invention is furthermore a light source and optical coupling units.
