PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL element having a high productive efficiency, being inexpensive, and capable of showing a pattern of photographs, pictures, or characters with fine pixels, and a display medium using it. SOLUTION: In the EL element including at least a base material, an anode layer, a light-emitting layer, and a cathode layer, the light-emitting layer is characterized in that an image separated into two or more colors is formed when light-emitting materials that emit the different colors are printed in the shape of dots. The image is separated into three primary colors of the light, red, green and blue.
