PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal device and a program which can actuate various functions such as a schedule function through easy operation even when mail which is not constituted in specific format is received. SOLUTION: The terminal device is equipped with a means for sending and receiving mail, a schedule editing means 130 for editing a schedule, and a schedule storage means 31 for storing the edited schedule and further has a character string storage means 33 which stores a specific character string, a character string detecting means 150 which detects whether or not the specific character stored in the character string storage means 33 is contained in the document of received mail, and a means which actuates the schedule editing means when the character string detecting means 150 detects the specific character string.
