The drum-type container has a retaining device (2), an outflow opening (3), and an optional outflow opening (4), with the retaining device creating a damming effect to prevent a premature outflow of the medium inside the container. When the container is in an almost horizontal position the retaining device allows medium to flow out with point accuracy into another container with a filler neck. The capacity of the drum is between one and a hundred liters. The outflow openings are provided with a screw top.
