PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To predict the life of each rotor blade by measuring the distance between each rotor blade of rotating equipment with the rotor blades such as an axial blower, etc., and a casing, a wall surface, or the like in real time and obtaining the amount of creep of each rotor blade on the basis of the measured value. SOLUTION: In the axial blower with a wheel chamber including a plurality of the rotor blades 2 mounted to an impeller on a rotating shaft, this rotor blade life evaluating device is provided with both a clearance sensor 8 arranged in a casing of the wheel chamber for measuring a clearance between the rotor blades 2 with a metal or magnetic part 7 at the tip of at least one rotor blade 2 and the wheel chamber 5-1; and a control unit 10 for computing the lengths of the rotor blades 2 on the basis of the results of the clearance measurement, the clearance initial value, and the initial lengths of the rotor blades 2, and evaluating the lives of the rotor blades 2 on the basis of changes with time in total distortion computed on the basis of the lengths of the rotor blades 2.
