PURPOSE: A microwave oven having a communication device is provided to perform a communication operation as well as a cooking operation by installing the communication device in the microwave range. CONSTITUTION: A key input portion(101) includes a start key for selecting functions of a microwave oven, a timer, a communication key, and a plurality of number keys. A door sensor(103) is used for sensing an opening state or a shutting state of a door of the microwave oven. A control portion(105) controls cooking operations and communication operations of the microwave oven. A high voltage generation portion(109) generates a high voltage for generating electromagnetic waves according to a control signal of the control portion(105). A driving motor(111) is used for rotating a tray according to the control signal of the control portion(105). A ring generation portion(201) generates a ring sound. A microphone(205) is used for inputting voice. A speaker(203) is used for outputting the generated ring sound to a recipient. A storage portion(207) stores a message.
