PURPOSE: A control device for recording a time lapse VCR for use in a traffic control system is provided to overcome the traffic accident by controlling the recording operation of the time lapse VCR based on the lamp control signal such as a red light signal of the signal lamp installed on a cross road or an area adjacent to the cross road. CONSTITUTION: A control device for recording a time lapse VCR for use in a traffic control system includes a light signal device(21) for turning on a red, a yellow and a green lights on a cross road in response to the control of the light controller(23), a camera(22) for outputting the image signal obtained by photographing a designated area of the cross road to a time lapse VCR, a recoding control block(24) for outputting the recording control signal based on the control signal inputted from the signal lamp controller(23) and the time lapse VCR for recording the image signal outputted from the camera(23) by receiving the control of the record control signal.
