PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized ultrasonic detecting device which is not restricted by a rotary dresser on working space when dressing, and eliminates a detection fluid supply part supplying detection fluid from outside. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic detecting device has a rotary shaft 5 which is provided with a dresser at one end thereof, a pair of ball bearings 3, 4 for rotatably supporting the rotary shaft 5 with respect to a housing 2, and an ultrasonic vibration detecting part fitted to the housing 2. Annular space comprising a predetermined gap is formed between the rotary shaft 5 and the housing 2, while the detecting part is placed oppose to the annular space to form sealing. The annular space is filled with a viscous fluid through which the ultrasonic vibration propagating through the rotary shaft 5 is detected.
