PURPOSE: A process for preparing nutritious rice having essential amino acid such as threonine, valine, etc., a trace element such Na, K, etc. and vitamin A by adding laver and scorched rice to rice is provided. Whereby, the product has an improved taste and palatability as well as sufficient nutrients. CONSTITUTION: 86 to 95% by weight of polished rice and 2 to 3% by weight of unpolished rice are washed, added with salt, ground and mixed with 1 to 8% by weight of laver powder and 2 to 3% by weight of scorched rice powder which have a particle size of 100 to 120 meshes to produce a rice mixture. The mixture is agitated with 3 to 8% by weight of a binder and water, aged at room temperature, extruded in an extruder, steamed and then dried. The binder is optionally one of gluten, potato starch and gums. |
