METHOD FOR TRANSFERRING GENE TO PLANT IN IMPROVED GENE TRANSFER EFFICIENCY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for transferring a gene into plants to achieve practical transfer of a gene to various plants difficult to perform the gene transfer including trees by improving the gene transfer efficiency performed by using a genetic engineering technique. SOLUTION: A shoot having at least one end having a meristem and a base part free from meristem is collected as a tissue for the gene transfer use. The gene is transferred to the base part free from the meristem while keeping the meristem on at least one end and the obtained adventitious bud is differentiated.
