PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably time-division-demultiplex ultrahigh-speed time-division multiplexed optical signals of over 100 Gbit/s into optical signals, in each channel using a simple configuration. SOLUTION: Optical signals in N channels (N is an integer 2 or greater), each having a specified bit rate per channel, are demultiplexed in time division to ultrahigh speed optical signals having a bit rate f, which are then inputted to a timing extraction system to output a timing clock at a frequency f/k (k is a natural number) which is synchronized with the ultrahigh speed signal. An optical modulator is driven by a timing clock, corresponding to a channel to be separated to demultiplex the ultrahigh speed optical signals in time division on the output. |
