PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying carbon monoxide efficiently purifying carbon monoxide containing a metal carbonyl compound, especially nickel carbonyl having a high vapor pressure and difficult to remove. SOLUTION: Synthetic zeolite is subjected to activation treatment of passing an inert gas through it in a heated state. Subsequently it is cooled to 0 deg. or lower and is packed in a purification vessel (a packed column 11). By passing the carbon monoxide through the purification vessel, the metal carbonyl compound existing in the gaseous carbon monoxide is adsorbed by the synthetic zeolite and is removed from the carbon monoxide. |
