PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key structure capable of discriminating a key from a similar key or discriminating the directions of insertion by the feeling of a tang section to promote easiness of its proper use and controllability. SOLUTION: For the key structure consecutively providing a small plate-like tang section 29 to the rear end of a key hole insertion section 27, a through-hole 35 is bored in the tang section 29 at an eccentric position for the center axis 33 of a key insertion direction, and a discriminating member 37 projected from both sides 29a and 29b of the tang section 29 is fitted into the through-hole 35. The direction of the tang section 29 can be specified by the discriminating member 37, and a wrong insertion can be prevented in the case the key is inserted to promote controllability.
