The vehicle door hinge comprises a first hinge (1) fixed to the door and a second hinge (2) fixed to the vehicle structure. The two hinges are fixed together by a spindle. The first hinge has a retaining element (3a) having a bore receiving a part of the spindle. The other part of the spindle engages in a bore of a retaining element (4) carried by the second hinge. The two hinges have guides which limit the displacement of the door relative to the vehicle structure and facilitate alignment of the bores for inserting the spindle. The first hinge retaining part has a part (9) extending beyond the bore. This part has a support wall (10) which engages a surface of the retaining element.
