The invention is directerd to a 1-azabicyclo[m.n.O]alkane derivative of the formula <CHEM> wherein M represents a Cm alkylene chain which may be substituted by 1 - 2m hydrocarbon groups, N represents Cn alkylene chain which may be substituted by 1 - 2n hydrocarbon groups, m and n are an integer of 3 - 5 (m > n), A represents a cyano radical, carboxylic acid group which has been esterified with an alcohol, a carboxylic acid group which has been amidized with a primary or secondary amine, an acyl group, or radical of -C(A<1>)(A<2>)(A<3>), in which at least one of A<1>, A<2> and A<3> is a nitro radical, hydroxyl radical, hydroxyl group etherified with an alcohol or esterified with a carboxylic acid, unsubstituted or mono- or di-substituted amino group, acylated amino group or halogen atom, and the others of A<1>, A<2> and A<3> are hydrogen or a hydrocarbon group, a salt thereof as well as a process for the preparation thereof. The derivative is used as an intermediate for preparing medicines for animals and agricultural chemicals.
