<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data communication device and a data communication method which normally abandon data at the time of failure of data reception as the reception side and effectively utilize resources. SOLUTION: The data communication device is provided with an input buffer 56 in which data to be temporally consecutively reproduced is temporarily stored, a timer 60 for reading out data from the input buffer 56 at intervals of a prescribed time, an IEEE1394 I/F part 6 which inputs and outputs data from and to another device 9 through a network 33, an oPCR 64 of which the held data can be rewritten by another device 9, and a discrimination part 59 which discriminates whether data held through the oPCR 64 is a prescribed value or not. When it is discriminated by the discrimination part 59 that data held in the oPCR 64 is the prescribed value, a prescribed amount of data which is held in the input buffer 56 and is to be temporally consecutively reproduced is deleted at intervals of the time measured by the timer 60.</p> |
