PURPOSE: A titanium aluminide based alloy is provided which has a high temperature oxidation resistance improved Ti(Al,Cr)3 composite coating layer by vacuum depositing Cr and diffusion coating Al on the surface of the titanium aluminide based alloy. CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing a Ti(Al,Cr)3 composite coated titanium aluminide based alloy comprises the processes of vacuum depositing Cr on the surface of a titanium aluminide based alloy; and diffusion coating Al on the Cr vacuum deposited surface of the titanium aluminide based alloy, wherein the vacuum deposition of Cr comprises the step of depositing Cr on the surface of the titanium aluminide based alloy to a thickness of 10 to 15 micrometers at a temperature of 300 to 400 deg.C using electron beam. The titanium aluminide based alloy is manufactured by the method for manufacturing a Ti(Al,Cr)3 composite coated titanium aluminide based alloy comprising the processes of vacuum depositing Cr on the surface of a titanium aluminide based alloy; and diffusion coating Al on the Cr vacuum deposited surface of the titanium aluminide based alloy, wherein the vacuum deposition of Cr comprises the step of depositing Cr on the surface of the titanium aluminide based alloy to a thickness of 10 to 15 micrometers at a temperature of 300 to 400 deg.C using electron beam. An alloy having superior oxidation resistance and ductility is manufactured by oxidizing the above titanium aluminide based alloy at a temperature of 800 to 1000 deg.C for 200 hours or more.
