PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a returnable container for carrying glass plates in which a glass plate accommodation box can be inserted therein without using any cushioning materials or returnable boxes formed of a synthetic resin or without highly lifting the glass plate accommodation box, and the glass plate accommodation box can be easily accommodated in the returnable box in an easily disposable manner and without requiring labors and workers. SOLUTION: This returnable box 1 for carrying glass plates comprises a corrugated fiberboard box body 2 having an opening 4 for taking in/taking out the glass plate accommodation box A on an upper surface, and having the height with an upper outer peripheral surface of the inserted glass plate accommodation box A exposed, and a corrugated fiberboard lid body 3 which is covered over the box body 2 so as to cover the glass plate accommodation box A inserted in the box body 2.
