PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material having excellent achromatization properties, image quality and handleability of a processed image after storage. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive material has at least one photosensitive layer and at least one non-photosensitive layer which contains a dye or its salt bleachable by a base and a binder on a support. The non- photosensitive layer and at least one of non-photosensitive layers adjacent to the non-photosensitive layer contain a base precursor and at least one of a compound of formula (I) and a compound of the formula R21 -X-R22 (II). In the formula (I), R11 and R12 are each an aliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic group, but in the case where R12 is an aliphatic group R11 is an aromatic or heterocyclic group. In the formula (II), R21 and R22 are each an aliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic group and X is a linking group other than a sulfonyl group. The formula (II) does not include the formula (I).
