PURPOSE: A display device having a deflection force correcting function and a method for the correction thereof are provided to correct the deflection force by changing an impedance even though an input signal has various horizontal frequencies, thereby simplifying the circuit arrangement and keeping a proper deflection force. CONSTITUTION: A display device having a deflection force correcting function includes a power supply part(40) for varying a frequency of an AC power input from the outside in response to a control signal and outputting a power having a level corresponding to the varied frequency as an input voltage, a frequency discriminating part(42) for discriminating horizontal frequencies of the input signal to display and output the discrimination result, a selection signal generating part(44) for generating at least more than one selection signal having a level determined according to the discrimination result input from the frequency discrimination part, and an input voltage control part(46) for varying an impedance in response to the selection signals and generating the control signal corresponding to the varied impedance, wherein the input signal has various horizontal frequencies.
