PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushion material with which while cushion properties are kept, flexibility can be improved and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: A plurality of slits 5 are formed at specified intervals at least on the surface 1a and the back surface 1b of a cushion body 1 comprising a nonwoven fabric. The slits 5 on the surface 1a and the back surface 1b are arranged so as to be alternately disposed. Expanded spaces 7 are formed in the depth parts of the slits 5. The cushion material for a mattress constituted like this form is excellent in flexibility. In addition, it is possible to provide a stuffing with a deodorizing function in the expanded spaces 7.
