An arrangement for positioning an optical fibre (2), relative to an optical component (1) provided with an active surface (4) is disclosed, by means of which light from the fibre (2), with a light-guiding core and a sheath surrounding the above, is transmitted to the component (1) or injected into the fibre (2) from the component (1). The fibre (2) is arranged in an open channel on a planar support (11). The end of the fibre (2) is provided with a plane, light-reflecting end surface (7), running at an acute angle (α) to the axis of the fibre (2). The fibre (2) is positioned relative to the active surface (4) of the optical component (1), such that, after reflection on the end surface (7), light guided by the fibre (2) falls on the active surface (4), or light emitted from the optical component (1) is injected into the core of the fibre (2). A support (11) made from a semiconductor material is used for a simple construction of the arrangement, on which the optical component (1) is also mounted.
