<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a foam achieving excellent heat insulation by thin cell membranes, industrially produced and having high and stable quality by securing uniform fluidity of a molt mixture, in producing the foam by using starch as one of melting high-molecular weight compounds, and mixing other high- molecular weight compounds having different melt viscosities. SOLUTION: When producing the foam of a plastic resin including a vegetable fibrous material such as a pulverized product of paper, or wood, and the starch as components of the composition, the vegetable fibrous material and the starch are mixed in water. The foam is produced by putting a step for drying pellets at a temperature lower than the gelatinizing temperature of the starch between a step for adhering the spheres of starch molecules with the vegetable fibrous material without gelatinization of the starch, and the resultant spheres of the starch molecules to adhere with each other, and a step for mixing and foaming the resultant pellets with the plastic resin.</p> |
