PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve energy efficiency of air conditioning in a building in pneumatic conveying. SOLUTION: In this conveying device 19, outer air is sucked from a gallery 2 to flow through a supply air duct 9 from an outer mechanism pit 4 to an inner mechanism pit 8. The air is sent to conveying air duct 11 to be discharged along discharge ports 11b to 11a. As paper pieces or the like generated in the building 1 are charged into a conveying passage 12, they are carried by air discharged from the discharge port 11b to a relay duct 15. Since most of air introduced to the conveying passages (the conveying passage 12 and the relay duct 15) to introduce subject matter (paper pieces or the like) is air taken from the outside of the building 1, only little air is sucked from the inside of the building 1 as air for conveying. Energy efficiency when the inside of the building 1 is air-conditioned in thus excellent.
