PURPOSE: A focus control apparatus is provided to control focus by moving, in forward and rearward directions, the image pickup device within the apparatus, while allowing the apparatus to be operated at a low current and improving reaction rate and reliability. CONSTITUTION: A focus control apparatus comprises a fixing unit(22), a support unit(23), a driving unit(24) and an electronic circuit unit(25). The fixing unit firmly fixes an image pickup device(21) and is connected to the support unit. The support unit has a slidable structure, and firmly maintains horizontal and vertical directions of the image pickup device when the driving unit is in operation. The electronic circuit unit is connected to the image pickup device through a flexible connector, and to an encoder(26) or a limit switch. The driving unit controls focus by driving a gear using the power generated from a small motor and moving the fixing unit in forward and rearward directions from an optical axis. |
