PURPOSE: A method for separating heavy hydrogen and manufacturing heavy water using adsorption/photodesorption at the surface of fine platinum powder is provided to manufacture heavy water by selectively desorbing heavy hydrogen through light source after adsorbing hydrogen gas on the surface of the fine platinum powder. CONSTITUTION: In a method for manufacturing heavy water using fine platinum powder, the method for separating heavy hydrogen and manufacturing heavy water using adsorption/photodesorption at the surface of fine platinum powder comprises a hydrogen generating part for generating hydrogen by separating hydrogen from all substances containing hydrogen to adsorb hydrogen in which heavy hydrogen exists in a natural ratio onto the fine platinum powder; a light source control part for generating light of an ordinary red heat lamp to selectively desorb light hydrogen from the hydrogen adsorbed fine platinum powder; a collection part for collecting the light hydrogen selectively desorbed through light; and a treatment part producing heavy water by oxidizing the desorbed heavy hydrogen after desorbing heavy hydrogen that is not collected in the collection part, but remained in the fine platinum powder.
