METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONVERTING COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL

PURPOSE: A method and a device for converting a communication protocol are provided to convert mutually different communication protocols of each apparatus to an identical communication protocol for inter-apparatus communication, so as to easily cope with the version-up of a communication protocol or a newly developed communication protocol. CONSTITUTION: A user connects a new apparatus in which an initial default protocol is set to a network(S10). Whether a communication protocol coincident with a communication protocol used in the network is stored in the new apparatus is decided(S20). If not, a communication part of a converting unit downloads a corresponding communication protocol through the Internet network or a card of converting the corresponding communication protocol is installed in a slot of the converting unit(S30). If a coincident communication protocol is stored in the step S20, the stored communication protocol is displayed on a display part of the converting unit(S40). The user selects the communication protocol displayed on the display part and the selected communication protocol is defined as a default protocol of the apparatus(S50). Communication between a plurality of apparatuses connected to the network is performed using the defined communication protocol(S60). And if the communication protocol used on the network is converted, the step S20 is returned(S70).
