APPARATUS FOR MEASURING MOLECULAR MASS OF SUPERPOLYMER POLYETHYLENE

PURPOSE: An apparatus is provided to analyze molecular mass of polyethylene specimen in a rapid and accurate manner by measuring tension stress of the specimen at a high temperature state. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for measuring molecular mass of superpolymer polyethylene, comprises a specimen transport unit for detecting height of the specimen; a detection unit for applying load to the specimen and detecting increasing length of the specimen; and a stirring and temperature maintaining unit arranged within a thermostatic bath(14), which maintains heat medium at a high temperature. The specimen transport unit includes a support(3) having an end connected to an air cylinder(4) installed in a vertical direction on a work die(17); a ball supply(1) connected from the other end of the support; and a ball valve(2) arranged at the ball supply. The detection unit includes a specimen mounting member(5) connected to the center of the ball supply; a near sensor(6); a load member(8) arranged to be opposed to the specimen mounting member; and a time counter(7) connected to the load member.
