PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the necessary cooling capacity and to surely prevent the engine stop caused by the variation of driving torque in a compressor and the excess rising of the engine revolutions, in an idling engine speed control device of a vehicle engine for driving a variable displacement compressor of a refrigerating cycle device for vehicle. SOLUTION: An idling engine speed NR' necessary for securing the cooling performance and an idling engine speed NT necessary corresponding to the driving torque T of the variable displacement compressor are calculated in steps S60, S80, and the larger one of the idling engine speed NR necessary for securing the cooling capacity and the idling engine speed NT necessary corresponding to the driving torque T of the compressor is finally determined as the idling engine speed NF in a step S90.
