PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a high-recording density recording medium having a minute recording pattern and a servo pattern, by which a mold and the recording medium can be manufactured in a short time, while preventing defects generation. SOLUTION: The high-recording density recording medium is manufactured by using the mold whose size is smaller than that of a substrate and transferring the patterns to the substrate by rotating both of the mold and the substrate, in order to shorten the manufacturing time of both of the mold and the recording medium, while defects such as uneven patterns are prevented from being generated.
