PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method for a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal display element by which excellent display is performed by suppressing cornstalk when applying a simple matrix drive to the display element. SOLUTION: This method is for driving a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal display element in which liquid crystal composition containing polymer and at least dual-frequency drive liquid crystal is held between substrates on which a plurality of electrodes parallel with each other and consisting of transparent conductor are formed so as to cross at right angles. In the driving method, after a light transmission state is formed in the element by the impression of the electric-field frequency of one side and a light scatter state is formed in the element by the impression of the other electric-field frequency and the impression of each electric-field frequency is stopped, when performing display by controlling the quantity of light transmission while making alignment states of the dual-frequency drive liquid crystal being impressed with dual frequencies to be maintained, electric-field waveforms for forming the light transmission state and the light scatter state are made to be different.
