GRANULAR DIOXIN ADSORBENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a granular dioxin adsorbent capable of effectively and adsorptively removing dioxins from a waste gas discharged from a refuse incinerator in an adsorption tower without an excessive pressure load on a waste gas line. SOLUTION: The granular dioxin adsorbent is obtained by granulating a porous sinter prepared by compositing a carbide of an organic matter with an inorganic caking agent and heat-treating the sinter. An adsorbent obtained by using a mixture essentially consisting of bentonite as the inorganic caking agent exhibits a particularly excellent dioxin adsorptivity.
