<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt tensile force detector capable of satisfying demands of high accuracy and strength. SOLUTION: A seat belt load sensor 1 is composed of a protecting plate 13 and an elastic plate 12 provided with a strain gage 11 in a central part. The two are superimposed and they are inserted between a fixing plate 10 and a buckle 9 of a seat belt. In a normal used state, tensile force of the seat belt acts only on the elastic plate 12, and the strain gage 11 outputs an electric signal equivalent to the tensile force. When a large load occurs in the seat belt, the elastic plate 12 break and tensile force acts on the protecting plate 13. Since the protecting plate 13 has strength capable of sufficiently bearing even a large load occurs in a vehicular collision, it does not break. By this, since the seat belt can be protected by the protecting plate 13 even when a large load exceeding an elastic limit of the elastic plate 12 occurs and the elastic plate 12 breaks, the seat belt is not cut and safety of an occupant can be secured.</p> |
