PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of an unpleasant phenomenon such as flickering on a display screen while switching between a normal scanning mode and a partial scanning mode in a light emitting display panel using organic EL elements. SOLUTION: When a switching command is supplied to a light emission control section 11 by a scanning mode changing circuit 13 to switch the scanning mode, a control circuit 18 controls the execution of the switching operation of the scanning modes in the scanning starting time of a first scanning line or the scanning of a dummy line that is set after the completion of a last scanning of a last scanning line. Thus, in a light emitting display panel 1 that uses organic EL elements, light emitting display by a new scanning mode is conducted from a first scanning line in a frame and the generation of an unpleasant phenomenon such as flickering is prevented. |
