<p>A damping structure reduces chatter caused by shaft (10) vibrations within a bearing bore in a manifold. The damping structure is incorporated into the shaft (10) and has a resilient member (18) and a contact member (20) inside a shaft bore (16) machined into the shaft (10). The contact member (20) presses against the inside surface of the bearing bore (16), placing a load on the shaft (10) that dampens chatter-inducing vibrations.</p> |
