PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air supply flow heating device and its heating method for supplying hot air supply flow continuously to an external apparatus such as a gasifying furnace or the like by heating air, steam or the like at relatively low temperature to a high temperature by the continuous operation of a single burner. SOLUTION: A supply/exhaust passage is arranged between a hot blast furnace and a heat exchanger, and a hot air supply passage is connected to the supply/exhaust passage, and besides it supplies a hot air supply flow to an external apparatus. A passage changeover valve 30 is arranged in the supply/ exhaust passage, and is switched alternately to the first position and the second position. In the first position, the air supply flow heated by the first heat exchanger 11 is sent out from the supply/exhaust passage to the hot air supply passage, and the combustion exhaust gas in the hot blast furnace 7 is exhausted via the supply/exhaust passage and the second heat exchanger 12. In the second position, the air supply flow heated by the second heat exchanger is sent out from the supply/exhaust passage to the hot air supply passage, and the combustion exhaust gas in the hot air furnace 7 is exhausted via the supply/exhaust passage and the first heat exchanger. |
