PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic dictionary enabling to perform variant search in an incremental search and a narrowed-down search. SOLUTION: The dictionary comprises a character input means to input words, a word storage means to store contents of the words inputted from the input means, a translation storage means to store contents of a translation corresponding to the inputted words and a display means to display the contents to perform the variant search by pushing an arbitrary key in a state of incremental search.
