PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of plating onto an aluminum material by which the wear resistance of a plating film used for surface treatment for the aluminum material can be satisfactorily secured, and also to provide an aluminum pulley which is surface-treated by this method. SOLUTION: In the method of plating onto the aluminum material, the plating film f is deposited onto the surface of the aluminum material (pulley) 1 by electroplating using a composite plating solution prepared by adding SiC particles 9 to a wear-resistant plating solution.
