The invention relates to a device and a method for opening empty bags, comprising at least one belt conveyor (2), at least one injection strut (6) which moves synchronously with the longitudinal displacement of the belt conveyor (2), and at least one blower which is connected to the injection strut (6). Said belt conveyor (2) takes hold of the bag (1) with the inserted injection strut directly adjacent to the upper edge (7) of the bag (1), and the blower at least essentially fully opens the bag (1) in the belt conveyor (2) by means of the injection strut (6). The invention ensures that the bags are opened at a high frequency by providing lateral guiding elements (10) for the bags (1), beneath the plane of the belt conveyor (2), said lateral guiding elements (10) comprising contours (11) which prevent the bag (1) from breaking out laterally when it is fully open. |
