PURPOSE: A circuit for generating a high voltage is provided to reduce power consumption by operating selectively a charge pump according to a level of an output voltage. CONSTITUTION: A control logic(100) generates enable signals(en1 to en3) for controlling a pumping operation of a charge pump portion(200). The charge pump portion(200) performs a pumping operation according to a pulse signal(OSC) and the enable signals(en1 to en3) of the control logic(100). The charge pump portion(200) is formed with a plurality of pumps. A current sense portion(300) detects current on an output terminal(50) of the charge pump portion(200) according to a pump-on signal(pump_on) and outputs control signals(con<0:7>) for controlling the control logic(100). The control logic(100) is formed with a truth table.
