PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer type display for reducing the swing of a pointer due to power interruption. SOLUTION: The pointer type display for moving the pointer 1 to an instruction position according to the amount of measurement to be displayed by controlling a drive means 10 comprises an instruction position information storage means 23 for storing instruction position information for indicating the instructed position of the pointer when the supply of power from a power supply to a mainframe is stopped, a power instantaneous interruption judgment means 21a for judging whether the activation of the mainframe is the reactivation due to the occurrence of power instantaneous interruption for stopping the supply of the power instantaneously or not, and a control means 21b for controlling the drive means 10 for moving the pointer 1 to the instructed position being indicated by the instruction position information being stored by the instruction position information storage means 23 when it is judged that the activation responds to the occurrence of the power instantaneous interruption by the power instantaneous interruption judgment means 21a.
