PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine which improves the efficiency of the enlarging processing of a pattern desired to be edited. SOLUTION: A selected or edited pattern 74 is displayed in a sewing area 81 corresponding to an embroidery frame and moved. When a prescribed part 81b in this area is selected and magnification keys 91a and 91b are operated, the part is expanded and displayed. The pattern is sewn according to sewing data of the pattern before the part is expanded. Since the pattern can be magnified to a desired size and displayed with less key operation, it is not required to repeat expansion processing many times and an editing performance can be improved.
