PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a wide area power demand control system directed for general consumers. SOLUTION: A power company (101) and general power consumers (112) are connected with a transmission line (113) and a communication line (103). When the amount of power consumed in a particular area under the management of the power company has exceeded the predetermined threshold, a power saving request is originated with simultaneous broadcast to the power consumers from the power company via the communication line. When the amount of power consumption of the relevant area becomes lower than the threshold, the power saving request is cancelled with the simultaneous broadcast. Accordingly, since the power saving request can be issued and cancelled to the ordinary power consumers in the wide area with the simultaneous broadcast, power consumption can be effectively controlled. Moreover, since the power- saving request signal and power-saving request cancelling signal can be transmitted directly to the power consumers from the power company, by connecting the power company and power consumers using the electrical power line having the power supply function and communication function, the electrical demand control can be realized more effectively. |
