PURPOSE: A solid state imaging device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to focus an incident ray on a light receiving portion by using an auxiliary lens. CONSTITUTION: A transmission electrode(20) is surrounded on a vertical transmission region by a shielding layer(22). The shielding layer(22) is used for covering a sidewall and an upper portion of the transmission electrode(20). An upper portion(21) of an optical diode as a light receiving portion is exposed. The transmission electrode(20) is covered by the first planarization layer(23). A color filter(26) is located on an upper portion of the exposed light receiving portion(21). The color filter(26) is used for transmitting the light of particular wavelengths, selectively. The color filter(26) is covered by the second planarization layer(24). The second planarization layer(24) has a refractive index of 1.4 to 1.6. A micro lens(28) and an auxiliary lens(34) are located on the second planarization layer(24).
