PURPOSE: An apparatus for purifying the sewage and the waste water and its method are provided, to increase the treatment velocity of the sewage and the waste water compared with the filtration method using sand by 7-8 times or more, thereby improving the treating capacity of the sewage and the waste water, to enhance the removing rate of the organic materials and the floating materials, and to allow the slag ball to be recycled. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus(A) comprises a filter-phase reactor(2) charged with the atomizing-treated slag ball(1), and the sewage and the waste water is filtered and purified by passing the slag ball layer. The filter-phase reactor comprises a tank(3) for supplying the treated sewage and the waste water into the filter-phase reactor, and a tank(4) for collecting the water treated at the filter-phase reactor. The filter-phase reactor contains a back washing pump(5) for allowing the slag ball to be washed at the under part, and a transmitting valve(21) for transmitting the back washed water into a storage tank(6) at the upper part. Preferably the filter-phase reactor is loaded inside of the waterways to allow the water to be filtered by passing it.
